Turn Simple Chords Into Melodic Riffs.
Every Time You Play Guitar.
Rhythm guitar is more than chords.
It's about finding riffs that stick.
You've learned your favorite songs.
You know your basic (power) chords.
But when you hear a cool melodic riff, you always wonder:
"How do people come up with this?"
Here is the truth:
Most guitar players hit this wall, because their rhythm guitar journey ends with learning chords.
But writing cool riffs is a different skill.
That’s why I created the Melodic Riffing Course.
It’s the exact system I use to craft riffs that sound like me — and it’s 100% learnable, so you can
✅ turn basic chord progressions into melodic hooks
✅ use syncopation, arpeggiation and harmonization to make your riffs move
✅ layer riffs on top of each other to create sound walls
A course just like my riff building videos.
But supercharged.
Build awesome Riffs with Joey
This course has the same vibe as my riff building videos on YouTube. Except we go way deeper, take more time and cover everything - playing technique, writing concepts and other details.
Tabs to 20+ Riffs
I wanted you to be able to play ALL riffs we discuss in this course, so everything is tabbed. Save them, print them, whatever you want to do - as long as you keep riffing! :)
7 Backing Tracks
I've built a unique backing track for EVERY riff concept in this course so you can ALWAYS riff over actual music and have the best time while learning. No more riffing on your own!

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this course for beginners or intermediate players?
Both. I designed this course for late beginners, intermediate players and long-time players who are just looking for some new inspiration. The concepts I am showing are not complex, yet super effective. Plus, you can always ask questions in every chapter of the course if anything is unclear. I will usually respond within 24 hours.
However, if you've just started playing and still need to learn basic chords, this course might be a bit of a stretch. You should be able to play basic power chords and know basic chord shapes like major and minor chords.
Do I need to know theory to understand this course?
Not really! This course was designed to make you a better player without doing a deep dive into music theory. I do cover inversions and arpeggios, but I am explaining both and everything is documented in the tabs.
